Overview
General Public Awareness ("GPA", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What We Collect
Without an account
All condition pages and self-assessments are accessible without creating an account. We do not collect any personal data from anonymous visitors beyond standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited).
With an account
If you choose to sign in via Google or GitHub to contribute data, we store:
- Your OAuth provider and provider ID (for deduplication)
- An optional display name from your OAuth profile
- Any self-assessment results or poll responses you choose to submit
How We Use Your Data
- Deduplication — We use your provider ID to ensure one submission per condition per user, preventing duplicate entries in community data.
- Aggregation — Your submissions are aggregated with all others to produce anonymous community statistics (charts and distributions).
- Never displayed individually — Your identity is never shown publicly. All community data is aggregated.
What We Don't Do
- We do not sell your data to third parties
- We do not send marketing emails
- We do not use your data for advertising
- We do not share individual responses with anyone
Your Rights
You can:
- Delete your account — Remove your account and all associated submissions at any time
- Update submissions — Change or remove your responses to any assessment
- Access your data — View all data we have stored about you
Cookies
We use a single httpOnly cookie to maintain your authentication session after signing in. This cookie contains a JWT token and expires after 24 hours. No tracking cookies are used.
